Drugstore Lip Products Review

Drugstore Lip Products Review

What's up guys? It's Brooke here. Today I thought I'd stick to the product review theme that my blog has started on, and review my recent drugstore lip product purchases. Hope you enjoy reading!

Maybelline Color Sensational 625 Are You Red-Dy
The packaging is very convenient and cute. I honestly cannot pull off reds very well, but I use this for my stage makeup. I find that this lipstick stays on all day, by the time I get home it's still looks great. A downside is that if you do not apply some sort of lip balm as a base... your lips will dry out a ton. I recommend #625 if you are looking for something vibrant and durable to wear on your lips.

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm 250 Standout
These balm's have gotten a lot of attention, and they deserve it. Standout is perfect dark berry-red color. The packaging appears to be a dark brown tinted red, however it is not that color on my lips. It is super moisturizing and easy to apply. I haven't worn it for longer than an hour so I'm not sure if it is that dependable for an all-day look, you may have to re-apply.

Bellapierre Cosmetics Pink Cheek and Lip Stain
To be honest I haven't tried this as a blush yet, so I have no idea if it's good for that. The pigment of this is absolutely stunning. It's such a gorgeous color; I'm tempted to wear it everyday! It looks better if you apply it with your finger, rather than a lip brush or any type of applicator. Love this product.

Revlon Colorburst 045 Cotton Candy
It doesn't really have that good of pigmentation. Looks like a sheer baby pink on lips. You have to constantly re-apply. You cannot feel the glitter on your lips, and it helps give it a nice pop. Not the best product but is a very cute color.

Burt's Bees Lip Gloss Sunny Day
I love the fact that it is 100% natural. However, the product is very hard to get out of the container, and when you do get some out it's not enough to do much. The color is a shimmery light pink when first applied but dulls to a more nude shade after a little while. Wouldn't buy again.

Revlon Colorburst 005 Sugar Frosting
Really similar to Revlon Cotton Candy but a little glossy. Very pretty color, but again does not last long. Would probably be best on top of a matte pink.

Beauty Favourites of January

Beauty Favourites of January

Hey guys, welcome to my blog. For my first post I thought I would do something that I enjoy reading from other bloggers myself, and that is a favourites of the month post! I mostly use drugstore products, since all brand name makeup stores are a couple hours from my home. However, the cost doesn't always guarantee the quality. These are my favourite beauty related products of January:

Rimmel London Clean Finish Foundation
What I love about this foundation is that it covers really well, yet leaves a clean looking finish. It stays on all day, doesn't make your skin break out, and is perfect for everyday wear. You do need concealer if you have very dark under-eye circles like me, though. It's non-sticky and blends really well. It is very affordable, and you can get it at your local drugstore.

Sephora Collection Pro Flawless Airbrush #56
This brush is my go-to everyday for my foundation and concealer. It is pretty pricey (40$ CA) but is definitely worth it. It is one of the few name brand products I use. The bristles are super soft and easy to clean. Very little product goes a long way with this brush. I have been using it for just about a year and it still works (and looks) like new.

Maybelline New York Volum' Express Pumped Up! Colossal Mascara
I know, that name is a mouthful. This is my all time favourite mascara, because it makes my lashes look super long without clumping. The wand is stable and easy to use. I highly recommend this product.

Covergirl Professional Loose Powder
I've been loving this powder recently, because it sets your makeup beautifully without caking. The lid does crack though, so if you get this product try not to drop it. Don't use the puff that comes with it, use a brush or whatever works for you. It looks better on my skin than my 30$ powder from Sephora.

Maybelline New York Line Works Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner
This eyeliner is very pigmented and easy to apply. I love the shape of the tip and how long it lasts throughout the day. However, it is not waterproof and runs out very fast. Yet I still haven't been able to find a product that beats the colour. Wonderful for a dramatic winged look.

Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Gel Moisturizer
I love this moisturizer, because it is lightweight but still hydrates my very dry skin. Doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy. Easy to find and affordable.

Nutiva Organic Virgin Coconut Oil
I didn't specifically choose this coconut oil for a reason, but in general I love all coconut oil. It works great for so many different uses and doesn't taste too bad. I mostly use it for beauty related things. If you haven't tried out coconut oil yet, you should! It's starting to become very popular.
